What is S.E.A.L.?
Seniors Experiencing Aggie Life Conference (S.E.A.L.). The S.E.A.L. Conference is a three day program in the fall semester where high school seniors get a first hand look of what Texas A&M University is all about. Participants will get the opportunity to take part in discussion groups with members of the Aggie Recruitment Committee, as well as connect with other high school seniors from across the nation. In addition to discussion groups, participants will also get the chance to be a part of a mixer, attend a session with the college of prospective major, and spend a couple of nights in the residence halls with current students to get the full experience of what it is like to be an Aggie. The S.E.A.L. Conference has helped create many friendships and new contacts for participants to help them with the transition from high school to college. Family members, along with their participants, are invited to join us for informational presentations on admissions, residence life, financial aid, honors/scholarships, Corps of Cadets, and a session with a student panel. The S.E.A.L. Conference is limited to 100 high school seniors. The participants will attend Midnight Yell Practice, a tailgate event hosted by The Aggie Recruitment Committee, and watch a Texas A&M football game. Students must attend the ENTIRE conference. As a S.E.A.L. participant, you will participate in (among other things):
Yell Practice
Fightin' Texas Aggie Football Game
Tour of A&M Campus and Renowned Facilities
Residence Life
Discussion Group time with Current Students
Sitting in on an A&M Class
Session with the College of Prospective Major

S.E.A.L. 2008 Selection Process
Students Experiencing Aggie Life (S.E.A.L.) 2008 Selection Process
S.E.A.L. is a conference planned by the Aggie Recruitment Committee for high school seniors interested in experiencing college life at Texas A&M University. While we wish we could allow everyone who wants to participate in S.E.A.L. to do so, we simply do that. With the resources and facilities we currently have, it is only possible to bring 100 students to campus. To provide the fairest selection process to all interested parties, keeping in mind that not everyone has round-the-clock access to computers, we will be implementing the following selection process for S.E.A.L. 2008:
On Monday, September 8th, 2008, at 8:00am, registration will open and remain open for 24 hours. Everyone who registers by 8:00am on Tuesday, September 9th, will be placed in a pool from which 100 participants, along with 20 alternates, will be chosen at random. If after the first 24 hours we have not filled all our spots, registration will stay open until all spaces are filled.
The Aggie Recruitment Committee has deemed this random selection process to be the most fair and equitable way to fill these limited spaces. Please contact Belle Parga with any questions you might have. Thank you for your interest and your understanding.
Thanks and Gig ‘Em,
Belle Parga and Margaret Mitchell
