What is S.E.A.L.?
The S.E.A.L. Conference is a three day program in the fall semester where high school seniors get a first hand look of what Texas A&M University is all about. Participants will get the opportunity to take part in discussion groups with members of the Aggie Recruitment Committee, as well as connect with other high school seniors from across the nation. In addition to discussion groups, participants will also get the chance to be a part of a mixer and spend a couple of nights in the residence halls with current students to get the full experience of what it is like to be an Aggie.
The S.E.A.L. Conference has helped create many friendships and new contacts for participants to help them with the transition from high school to college. Family members, along with their participants, are invited to join us for informational presentations on admissions, residence life, financial aid, honors/scholarships, Corps of Cadets, and a session with a student panel. The S.E.A.L. Conference is limited to 120 high school seniors. The participants will attend Midnight Yell Practice, a tailgate event hosted by The Aggie Recruitment Committee, and watch a Texas A&M football game. Students must attend the ENTIRE conference.
As a S.E.A.L. participant, you will participate in (among other things):
Fightin' Texas Aggie Football Game
Tour of A&M Campus and Renowned Facilities
Discussion Group time with Current Students
Sitting in on an A&M Class
Guest Speakers will include persons from the departments of:
Honors /Scholarship Programs
Corps of Cadets
Registration for S.E.A.L. Conference 2014 will be available August 29th from 8 AM - 5 PM online!
Students Experiencing Aggie Life (S.E.A.L.) 2014 Selection Process:
S.E.A.L. is a conference planned by the Aggie Recruitment Committee for high school seniors interested in experiencing college life at Texas A&M University. With the resources and facilities we currently have, we are able to invite 120 students to campus for the S.E.A.L. conference. To provide the fairest selection process to all interested parties, we will be implementing the following selection process for S.E.A.L. 2014:
Every application submitted during the time that registration is open is accepted. If registration is not filled up during that time slot, it will stay open until all spaces are filled. Once registration is closed, there will be a drawing to accept participants. The drawing will be completely random and computer generated to prevent any biases for selection. After we have filled all our spots, a waitlist of 25 alternates will be created using the same process. These alternates will be chosen if there is a cancellation from the initial list of students.
The Aggie Recruitment Committee has deemed this random selection process as the most fair and equitable way to fill limited spaces. We decided to change this to allow for all students interested the opportunity to sign up and have the same possibility of getting in. The time block also allows for all students interested to be able to sign up despite school schedules. Thank you for your interest and your understanding. If you have any questions feel free to contact us.
